This movie from a true story was funny, emotional, moving and certainly impactful. It was so touching that I cried about 3 times and certainly left a very deep impression on my heart with regards to autism. It also changed my perception on It. Definitely worth the watch and highly recommended. The actors portrayed their roles very well. It was really natural and a joy to watch.
Poignant and authentic with lots of heart, Guang had me laughing and tearing at the struggles and triumphs of not just the titular character, but also his brother and mother. Its strong plot, script, acting and cinematography make this movie about an autistic man and his caregiver(s) soar; even the side characters are portrayed with so much warmth and soul. This is also a sublime film about music and the importance of listening and conversation to understand those around us. Guang is the best movie I’ve watched so far this year. Stay for the ending credits, where you’ll glimpse footages of the director’s brother, who inspired this film.
Simple story but powerful emotions. Impressive visuals. Guang is a well-crafted debut that goes beyond the telling of the intimate struggles of a familial relationship. The tear-jerking struggles of a family grappling with autism and society. Breathtaking and nostalgic musical score throughout the movie.
