Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, a sequel to 1964's classic musical Mary Poppins.
The film is set in 1930s London and follows Jane and Michael Banks, who are now grown-up and still living in the house on Cherry Tree Lane. He lives there with his three children, Annabel, John, and George, and the housekeeper named Ellen. After Michael suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins comes back to the Banks family with street lamplighter Jack, and eccentric cousin Topsy.
Directed by Rob Marshall (Into the Woods), Mary Poppins Returns stars Emily Blunt (The Edge of Tomorrow) as the endearing nanny, who takes over from the legendary Julie Andrews, and Lin-Manuel Miranda who replaces Disney legend Dick van Dyke. They are joined by Meryl Streep (The Post), Ben Whishaw (Skyfall), Emily Mortimer (Hugo), Julie Walters (Paddington 2), Colin Firth (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and Angela Lansbury (Beauty and the Beast).
