22-year-old Alessandro is an uneducated and bad mannered young man from Trastevere, Rome. He befriends an old, forgotten poet Giorgio after accepting a job as the poet's chaperon. He becomes more and more captured by the older man's vivaciousness and brilliance, and as Giorgio recounts his past, Alessandro is progressively entangled to a treasure hunt emerging from that very past. Giorgio is more serene while Alessandro is closer to his own father thanks to their friendship.
