Merly is hired as the supervisor for the project of cutting down the trees in a Kodaikanal forest area, after Konar wins the bid for the project. The forest is avoided by people because the dholes attack anyone who enters it. For security, hunters Johnny and Kaali are hired, they keep the dholes at bay using guns stolen from the police. When a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) arrives at the forest only to discover a burial urn full of old jewellery, Johnny and Merly, who's fallen in love with him, plan to steal the jewellery from the MLA's house. They also plan to run away together after doing so. Kaali, suspecting what they are up to, informs the MLA about it.
