Synopsis

Set in 2001 Afghanistan, 11-year-old Parvana and her family live under the Taliban rule. One day, her father is wrongfully arrested. Following this, Parvana cuts her hair and dresses like a boy in order to provide for her family. She also embarks on a quest to find and free her father.

This is one of Ms. Angelina Jolie produced movie. Easy to follow the story of a young girl who disguised as a boy to survive. Good lesson on it.

An animation with a difference

Overall: 4

The story highlights the hardship of people under Taliban rules, especially for women and elderlies. Not really for children, but more geared towards adult viewership.
