In the fictional French town of Ennui-sur-Blase, an American journalist from Kansas sets up a weekly magazine called The French Dispatch, which reports on local issues. The movie focuses on three stories from a memorial issue of the magazine, considered the best stories from the last decade, which are The Concrete Masterpiece, about a famous artist sentenced to life imprisonment; Revisions to a Manifesto, about student riots; and The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner, about a chef who solved a kidnapping case.
