Based on a true story about 34-year-old Yasuaki Shikano, who has suffered from muscular dystrophy since he was 12 years old. Even though he lives confined to a wheelchair, he is an upbeat and eccentric man with a peculiar habit of demanding to be fed a banana late at night. He recruits volunteers to help him live an independent life but they have to cater to his every whim. One of the volunteers is med school student Tanaka. When one day Yasuaki falls for a girl name Misaki, he asks Tanaka to help him write a love letter, not knowing that she is Tanaka`s girlfriend.
