Many films have attempted to portray families coping with grief and loss after disasters, but I've never quite seen it the way 'Birthday' has approached the subject. The incident in this case is a huge story covered in Korean and international media (I shall not say which since the sypnopsis does not reveal it either). Perhaps it's because this is an Asian movie, and most of such films I've seen are western ones, but I felt this movie was very real and not dramatised. Definitely worth a watch!
