Based on the groundbreaking novel the Price of Salt this is an amazing portrayal of a queer couple in the 1950s with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara turning in amazingly nuanced and beautifully portrayed performances. The soundtrack is also a wonder and together with the cinematography transports the viewer into the 1950s and the perspective of Terese. This is a must watch movie.

Carol is an amazing movie. The cinematography and editing is stunning, and the acting is superb. The movie touches on many issues and pulls you on an emotional roller coaster. Certainly worth at least a few watches!

It is a beautifully-directed film. Todd Haynes captures the heart of the romance and the fear of the forbidden love. The feel of the 1950s era added so much to this story with its elegance.
