Synopsis

In the near future, Earth is invaded by the alien Mimics who seem unbeatable, and in desperation the military launches a massive counterattack, with Major William Cage, (Tom Cruise) an officer who has never seen combat, sent to fight after he offends a general. In the first minutes of desperate combat Cage is killed, yet awakens to discover that he’s back at the start of the day, and that he’s inexplicably caught in a time loop that sees him repeating the same disastrous day over and over again, but with his memories and experience intact. With the help of a Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) Cage becomes a skilled warrior, as well as humanity’s only chance of defeating the Mimics and winning the war.
