Synopsis

Since his wife Mei-Yun was left comatose after a drowning accident, Chen You-Ming who lived in a seaside town has been raising his three sons alone in their home by paddies with floating rubbish. Wei, the eldest son, reaped the consequences as a scan syndicate member and prepares to leave home for an acting career. Ting, the second son who is mentally retarded, has an IQ of a child and needs care. Liang, the youngest son, has a talent for painting and keenly perceives his status as a “redundant” child. After his digger for making a living breaks down, he is in idleness and frequents claw machine arcades or karaoke restaurants. His life is suddenly disrupted by the appearance of a young woman who calls herself Xie Hui-Zhen.

Zhen wants to know if Chen is her father. After her constant nagging, Chen, who is initially reluctant to respond, can only call Zhen’s mother Ke Li-Jia, his girlfriend 20 years ago. Informed about her missing daughter, Ke comes to confront Zhen in the town. Before the mystery is unraveled, Chen has to deal with the death of his wife in hospital and his stressful relationships with his sons.
