Based on the true story of Oscar Grant, a young man who was shot to death by a police officer at the Oakland, California Fruitvale rapid transit station. He was a 22-year-old resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, and the film chronicles his experiences on the last day of his life before he was fatally shot in the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2009.
