The film is set in the period of the 21-month-long period from 1975 to 1977 when there was a state of emergency across the country in India The film set against this backdrop, puts Indu Sarkar, 25, a lady with striking looks and a stammering poetess in the biggest dilemma of her life. A traumatic incident in childhood seems to be set right by the perfect marriage to Naveen and their children. But EMERGENCY in the country changes it all.
