Lawyer Jung-in refuses to attend her father`s funeral but when a shocking incident takes place at the wake, she steps in to defend her mother who is accused of causing it. She learns that the rice wine has been poisoned, killing a guest and putting another four, including the town mayor, in critical condition. Even though her mother, who is suffering from dementia, doesn`t even recognise her, Jung-in becomes her defense lawyer and strives to prove the elderly woman`s innocence. As she works on the case, she unravels the dark secrets hidden by her hometown.
