Synopsis

The multi-year ICAC investigation into the Lida Conglomerate is on the brink of collapse after the CEO’s disappearance and the whistleblower’s flight to England. To salvage the case, a top ICAC agent teams with a fellow investigator (who happens to be his estranged wife) and risks their lives to bring the witness back to Hong Kong.

Worth it

Definitely worth the time and money to watch this movie. Kept me in suspense all the way and never knew that how it would end. Good storyline.

Atmospheric build-up

Undeniably, the actors play their parts beautifully too, with Lau as an assertive but ethically questionable leader and Cheung as an indecipherable poker face. Jake Pollock’s atmospheric cinematography gives this otherwise dialogue-heavy crime drama a distinctive visual polish.

Worth a watch

Not a typical HK movie fan but had a chance to catch this and its really not that bad. Tried predicting the storyline but was surprise with the ending. Cinematography is also a thumbs up.

Confused

The sound effects were quite annoying as the film itself is not scary at all but they added those stupid horror movie shows sound effects at some scenes to increase the excitement of the scenes. Don't understand the story plot at all and don't see any acting by the actors as actresses as they were just showing poker faces thru out.

Fall short to our expectations, entire plot was confusing. Was anticipating a big finish that would answer all our questions but instead left with more questions. The only upside was the great line of actors that were cast in this movie. Besides that, draggy and confusing storyline that went nowhere. Entire theatre went “huh?” When it ended.
