Synopsis

In the future, an outbreak of canine flu leads the mayor of a Japanese city to banish all dogs to an island that's a garbage dump. The outcasts must soon embark on an epic journey when a 12-year-old boy arrives on the island to find his beloved pet.

I, as a Japanese, need to carefully examine how people describe my country and our culture. Though this movie is eccentric, the way they capture and make use of Japan as the important bottom line of the story is highly praised.

Stop-motion lovers watch this!

Okay so this show is about a boy and dogs. If you like stop-motion you will love this. Yes it may look boring but after watching it you will appreciate the time taken to create such stop-motion movies!

Funny and insightful tale.

The clay animation truly brings out the best of the characters. The movie had every frame like a painting. Another spectacular film from the amazing director Wes Anderson!
