Synopsis

Set in the port city of Le Havre, where Marcel Marx lives a frugal life with his wife Arletty in their small flat. The well-spoken bohemian, who shines shoes for a living, one day meets a young African refugee Idrissa. Supported by his community, he stands up to officials who are doggedly pursuing the boy for deportation.
