Set in 1899, young English writer Christian moves to Paris and is absorbed into the city`s drug and prostitute infested underworld, Moulin Rouge. But things take a wicked turn for Christian when he falls in love with the star of the Moulin Rouge, Satine, a cabaret actress and the most beautiful courtesan in Paris, and starts a deadly love affair with her.
