Synopsis

"My Lovely Sister" is a poignant melodrama about sibling rivalry and reconciliation. Set in an impoverished town in present-day Israel, Marco Carmel`s feature, based on a Moroccan Jewish folk tale, centres on a curious love triangle among the sour and superstitious Rahma, her long-suffering husband Robert and the ghost of Rahma`s estranged beautiful sister, Marie, who dies from the pain of banishment after marrying an Arab fisherman. Wracked with guilt, the family`s conscience is tested as they try to make peace with the past and wrestle over Marie`s final resting place.
