Girl Power Reigns Supreme In Meghan Trainor's I'm A Lady Video For Smurfs: The Lost Village

It's cute, sassy and reeks of girl power. 23 year-old GRAMMY® Award-winning superstar Meghan Trainor released her single "I'm A Lady" from Sony Pictures Animation's upcoming film Smurfs: The Lost Village and makes no apologies for it. She's celebrating being a lady, she's proud of it and she's telling the world not to judge her for it. If you notice, it's only females appearing in the videos, which brings home the point of female empowerment. Meghan can be seen presiding over a boardroom, coolly being a football player complete with football, shoulder pads, and black athlete's eye makeup and then wearing a white top hat and sparkly jacket while being judged as amazing, all the while singing

"And I don't look like them (But I ain't worried about it)
I don't talk like them (But I ain't worried about it)
 But I know I'm a gem
I ain't worried about it, I ain't worried about it
 'Cause I'm a lady"

Not only is she singing the single for Smurfs: The Lost Village, she will also be voicing one of the new characters, SmurfMelody in the fully animated film Smurfs: The Lost Village. “I’m so excited to be singing ‘I’m a Lady’ for this movie,” said Trainor. “It’s a song that I love and am very proud of, and I can’t wait for the world to finally hear it! Getting to play a small part in the film with my character, SmurfMelody, makes this all the more exciting! So happy to be a part of the Smurfs family!!!”

Smurfs: The Lost Village opens in cinemas 06 April 2017 and we are all excited for it. Don't forget to make a date at the movies with your BFFs!
