Synopsis

Oru Muthassi Gadha (English: A Granny's Mace) is a 2016 Indian Malayalam film written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. This movie is Jude Anthany's second movie after the blockbuster Nivin Pauly-Nazriya starrer 'Om Shanthi Oshana'. Oru Muthassi Gadha, achieves the rare feat of the only South Indian movie which got selected for the Prague International Film Festival this year ! A 60+ year old rabble-rouser grand mother Leela is the central protagonist of this movie.The movie Oru Muthassi Gadha focuses on one particular phase of Leela’s life where she spends time with her daughter in law’s mother and gets a chance to fix her issues with life. How that happens and what all changes happens to Leela is what Oru Muthassi Gadha dealing with. The movie silently communicates that even those with a justifiable grudge against the world for whatever reasons one can think of, can be mellowed down with the right approach. All they need is someone who cares enough to help them shed the burdens of the past. Oru Muthassi Gadha is a film that will make you want to give your dear and near a call and have a hearty chat. Director Jude Anthany Joseph had written the story , music is handled by Shaan Rahman (Thattathin Marayathu fame). The cast includes Rajini Chandy, Bhagyalakshmi, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparana Balamurali (Maheshinte Prathikaram fame), Vijayaraghavan, Renji Panicker, Lena, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Lal Jose, Ramesh Pisharody etc.
