Joy (Mammootty) is an immensely rich Kottayam-Palai based farmer. He is hardly aware of the life beyond his small town in Palai as he didn't get much chance to explore the outside world. He shares a cordial and amiable relationship with his family. However Joy's peaceful life comes to an end once the newly married couple Samkutty (Ahmed Sidhique) and Annie (Akamksha Puri) enters. They had married secretly without permission from their parents and have eloped from their native place.
