A young and talented musician from Minneapolis known as The Kid begins his career with his band, the Revolution, all so that he can escape his tumultuous home life. He meets an aspiring singer named Apollonia, and realises that talent is not everything. While trying not to behave like his self-destructive father, The Kid struggles through the club scene while at the same time he is on the verge of losing Apollonia to another rival musician, Morris.
