Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark : 8.5/10 This movie is adapted from the real life book of the same title. There are 5 tweens who enter a haunted house and stole a haunted book that has scary stories that come to life. Do note that I never read the book. There was a surprisingly pleasant storyline, with a splendid backstory for the book and house. This may very well be one of the best TENSION films out there. The tension built for each entity is IMMENSE. I was holding my breadth throughout this movie. The entities themselves may not be scary but were definitely creepy and you will bring home memories of them from the movie. The only thing that brought me down was exactly that. Some of the entities were so odd that I wasn't afraid. I was honestly laughing at some of them, due to what they say or what they looked like. But rest assured they are nothing like what you've seen in other movies. The actors were serviceable, but lacked chemistry. The score was excellent and breathtaking in every sense of horror you can imagine. The visuals were perfect, building absolute tension with proper shots and minimal jumpscares. You must watch this movie if you're hoping for a fresh take at horror and need a sense of hope for the dying genre. I did not stay for the credits

Alvin Schwartz' popular series of children's horror books comes to life in "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”. Definitely has creepy factor. The ending set the movie up for a sequel in a cheesy way.

Stories coming to live is not uncommon. I like the way how it is being portray with a beginning, climax and ending. Creepy factor is full on. Enjoy it!!

Not too bad for horror story, a decent storyline, story can be bit predictable. Pleasant to watch. Some good jump scares.

I feel, towards the ending, the plot, and the comment the character made a bit dont make sense to me. It is not really scary.

This movie is really thrilling. Its very scary too. Bring your friend's to watch this movie. It keeps you at the edge of your seat
