Based on Anton Chekhov`s tragedic short story of a philosophy student Andrey Vasil`ich who on the verge of a nervous breakdown. He decide to visit his childhood friend Tanta Pesotsky and both of them begin to develop relationship and eventually marry. A black monk of legend begins to appears in his visions and this lead to his ruin.
