Stonehearst Asylum tells the story of Edward Newgate (Jim Sturgess), who is newly graduated from Harvard Medical School. He starts working at a mental asylum and finds himself falling for his colleague Eliza Graves (Kate Beckinsale). Unbeknownst to him, the inmates have recently taken over the institution. Graves is an inmate instead of a staff.
