Synopsis

Inspired by the 1977 Italian film of the same name about a dancer who enrols in a prestigious dance company. Set in the 1970s, Susie Bannion arrives in Berlin from America to audition for the prestigious Helena Markos Dance Co. She finds instant success, landing the lead dancer role but this causes the woman she replaces to break down and accuse the company`s female directors of witchcraft. At the same time, a member of the troupe and a psychotherapist explore the studio`s hidden chambers only to uncover dark, sinister secrets.

Worth a watch

Story: 4 | Acting: 5 | Visual: 5 | Music: 4 | Overall: 5

A slow-burner that builds to an unexpected touching finale. The dance sequences (one of which that involves a rather horrific literally twisted fate for a character) are stunning. Visuals and music are a big plus.

Lucid nightmare.

Story: 4 | Acting: 4 | Visual: 4 | Music: 4 | Overall: 4

Blood and gore flow freely especially in the finale. A dance about the obscure in the human being. A haunting and ethereal tale of witchcraft. It'll churn your soul.
