Great battle scenes and good acting skills, movie does not follow history, so if you are a history nazi, u might want to consider skipping this movie. But it is definitely worth the money
Wonderful and unpredictable approach! I was surprised at twist and turns. Unfamiliar with details og Goguryeo history but heroics of the Ansi general was amazing, his war strategies were courageous as 5000 faced 200000 strong Chinese invaders. Breathtaking closeups during the fighting scene were burned in my memory! Wasteland of war and destruction was balancwd by the human factor: loyalty, filial piety, romance & sacrifice. Worth every min of watching THE GREAT BATTLE in a vwey cold movie theatre!
Just like its name, this is a great movie. Beautifully detailed fight scenes with raw emotions painted in them. Amazing cinematography and mindblowing plot will capture the attention of the audience from the beginning till the end.

Usually not one for korean movies, but this movie has it all - great pacing, amazing cinematography, REALLY good looking fighting scenes, likeable characters, and overall tells a great story without going too overboard like how korean movies usually goes. Worth the 135minutes run time
