An adaptation of William Goldman`s 1973 novel of the same name, the story is presented in the film as a book being read by a grandfather to his sick grandson. It tells the story of a farm worker named Westley, who must rescue his true love Princess Buttercup from the odious Prince Humperdinck. Along the way, Westley befriends various companions who accompany him throughout his journey.
