The governments responsible for orchestrating the conflict viewed them as chess pieces. Throwing hordes of young men into the meat grinders on the German front lines. Booming sound effects to match cannon fire. A remarkable tribute. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it.
Compare with the other WW1 documentary. This is more clearly to see the every part of the soldiers’ life in the war, from start of the end. And every details that the other documentary can’t see. It was amazing
All of the audio commentary is from original BBC recordings of war veterans recounting their actual experiences in the trench. The soldiers been lip synced perfectly and apparently even with the right accent for the infantry units depicted. "The old make war but the young must fight and die"
