Synopsis

Jędrek Zawrat, a talented mountaineer and descendant of a prominent family of highlanders, likes living on the edge. The beautiful Bronka Skorus is the woman he wants to marry, but by the family`s decision she is matched to marry Jedrek`s older brother, the staid and serious Maciek. Proud Jędrek leaves his native region behind to look for ways to forget it all but war forces the brothers to make the most difficult of choices. They rise on opposite sides of a conflict that will determine not only their personal fate but also the future of the whole region.
