Synopsis

Isak Borg is a retired professor who is about to receive an honorary degree from his alma meter, Lund University, 50 years since receiving his doctorate there. To get it, he must travel from Stockholm all the way to Lund with his pregnant daughter-in-law who is unhappy with her marriage to his son. Along the way, they encounter a series of hitchhikers including Sara, who looks a lot like Isak`s first love.
