In the fictional French town of Ennui-sur-Blase, an American journalist from Kansas sets up a weekly magazine called "The French Dispatch", which reports on local issues. The movie focuses on three stories from a memorial issue of the magazine, considered the best stories from the last decade, which are "The Concrete Masterpiece", about a famous artist sentenced to life imprisonment; "Revisions to a Manifesto", about student riots; and "The Private Dining Room of the Police Commissioner", about a chef who solved a kidnapping case.
