Synopsis

This is an inspiring movie about one man`s determination to abolish the slave trade. Based on the true account of anti-slavery advocator William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd), this film logs his lengthy struggle in the late 18th century to pass an anti-slave trade law. Fighting the English establishment, he encounters severe opposition from members of Parliament. Fortunately, his best friend Prime Minister William Pitt (Benedict Cumberbatch), together with a reformed slave ship captain (Albert Finney) and several others, help him move closer to his dream.
