A love triangle involving an aristocratic lawyer and two women – Hanako is a wealthy Tokyoite while Miki is a college dropout working two jobs. Director Yukiko Sode chooses to highlight the commonality between two polar opposites – the need to fulfil the unspoken traditional expectations of women in modern Japan.
