A piece of History

What can I say, excellent preformance from both the actresses, carefully bringing out a notable past in the UK history.

Was a bit of a miss, considering it came out after The Favourite, which was a very strong historical film. Pacing felt a bit slow but there was definitely strong performances by both saoirse (especially) and margot.

Nice

Story: 3 | Acting: 5 | Visual: 3 | Music: 3 | Overall: 4

Political drama with strong performances by the two leading actresses. Well-scripted. I thought that it was pretty good.

Empowering

Story: 4 | Acting: 4 | Visual: 4 | Music: 4 | Overall: 4

Mary and Elizabeth never met! Mary was raised in FRANCE, she would have NEVER have had a Scottish accent let alone a Irish one! They only corresponded through many letters to each other. I don't think I've ever been so angry after seeing a historical film before..lol But the cinematography is beautiful.

Dare to watch

Full of palace intrigue and political skulduggery.

Story: 4 | Acting: 4 | Visual: 4 | Music: 4 | Overall: 4

Much of the movie is dedicated to Mary’s attempts at becoming the successor to the English throne by Queen Elizabeth I. A full-blooded tale of personal and political rivalries told with wit, flair and passion.
