A 2012 New Zealand film based on Lloyd Jones' novel Mister Pip. Mr. Watts (Hugh Laurie) is the only white man left in the province of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea after a blockade. He reopens the local school and a student of his becomes transfixed by a novel he is reading to his students at school - Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.
