Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy might take Valentine’s Day in a more sinister direction next year. The two actors find themselves posted to the guard towers above a version of hell in a trailer for Apple Films‘ The Gorge, released Saturday.
Teller and Taylor-Joy play two highly trained operatives who are appointed to guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, per the movie’s logline. Their task? “Protecting the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within.”
Though at first instructed that they cannot communicate, the two guards bond from a distance with notes read through high-powered binoculars. “When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late.”
Teller and Taylor-Joy celebrated the trailer’s release CCXP/ Brazil Comic-Con on Saturday. The clip revealed an wintery, overcast wilderness split by a wide canyon with no visible bottom. “What’s the truth about this place?” Teller asks in the trailer. “What’s the truth about The Gorge?”

Producers include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger through Skydance Media alongside Scott Derrickson, C.
