Blade Runner 2049 Reviews

One of the best of the year thus far.
Quite surprised at the amount of bad reviews this is getting. Perhaps some of the people here probably didn’t bother to watch the original or can’t comprehend it which leads to this now. Visually stunning and a worthy sequel of a classic. One of the best of the year. I love it. *Also, why do people have the opinion this is an action movie? The original didn’t have a lot of action in it too. Again, this is fantastic but NOT an action movie.

Roger Deakins better get his Cinematography Oscars this time!
I had to set aside my mountain of a biasness for this review. (huge fan of the first film!) Even without getting caught up by the incredibly well thought-out way the original story was expanded in this film, the visuals themselves were worth the watch. Not to mention Gosling & Ford's superb acting together. The best sequel I've seen thus far.

Although its cinematography cannot be easily understood by most, but this is definitely one of the most beautiful art I have watched this year.

Stylish retro sci-fi
Retro sci-fi feel. Not as draggy as the original blade runner movie. Nice cgi. Pace of the movie can be faster though, so that more story telling and action can be squeezed in.

One of the best movies I’ve ever watched!
Before one watches this film, be sure to watch the original Blade Runner to get a gist of what you’re getting into. The Blade Runner franchise isn’t for everyone. They’re not action movies and honestly speaking, I’m glad their not. It’s all about storytelling and atmosphere with these films and as such, may not be suitable for a younger, teenage audience. The film may disappoint those who are looking for films packed full of fight sequences and crude humour, because while Blade Runner 2049 lacks all that, it presents its audience with a visual feast for the eyes and a gripping story that pays homage to the original.

a worthy sequel to a cult classic
Awesome! the ending left me a bit dissatisfied but overall a master production.

My opinion
Long and confusing 2+hrs of movie. A lot of unexplained going on. Think there's gonna be a 2nd part..

Not as good as the original.
I wanted to love this movie as the original is one of my favourites, but despite some amazing cinematography the story was disappointing to me, just not engaging enough and he could have cut 30 minutes easily.

Good movie but full of annoying music/noise
Good movie but full of annoying background music/noise. The director choice of music is questionable.

one of the better movies of the year
beautiful set design and incredible acting. don’t blame those who are saying they’re confused, though. i would even say it’s an art house film in disguise.
